No child should learn on an empty stomach. No family should go to bed hungry.

Across Uganda, millions of children attend school each day on an empty stomach. For many families living in poverty, providing even one nutritious meal a day is a constant struggle. A hungry child cannot concentrate, cannot learn, and cannot thrive.
At HIAN Charity Foundation, our Food Security & Nutrition Program tackles hunger at its root. We provide daily school meals to children in partner schools, distribute emergency food packages to families in crisis, and train communities to establish their own kitchen gardens for long-term food independence.
Since 2022, we have served over 10,000 meals, partnered with 8 schools, and helped countless families achieve food security through sustainable agriculture. When we feed a child, we fuel a future.
We serve daily breakfast and lunch in partner schools. Children receive balanced, nutritious meals that fuel their learning and growth.
When crisis hits — drought, displacement, or disaster — we distribute food packages to families in urgent need.
We train families to grow their own food. Kitchen gardens provide long-term food security, independence, and dignity.

"Before the feeding program, I used to faint in class because I was so hungry. Now I eat breakfast and lunch at school every day. I can concentrate and my grades have improved so much!"
— Joseph M., Age 11, Wakiso
"HIAN taught me how to start my own kitchen garden. Now I grow vegetables for my family and even sell some at the market. We have food all year round and I earn money for my children's school fees."
— Margaret K., Mother of 4, Mbale
